Bilingual Customer Service & Eligibility Specialist (Gadsden County)

We are in the business of children! We’re looking to add a talented Bilingual Customer Service and Eligibility Specialist to join our team in Gadsden County. You will be responsible for greeting guests, notifying the appropriate ELC staff, performing routine administrative work, providing excellent customer service to include determination of initial and continued child care eligibility for the School Readiness (SR) and Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) programs and Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) services. This position reports to the Family Services Manager.

  • You have excellent customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • You are proficient with Microsoft Office products, web-based programs, and databases
  • You can communicate in Spanish and English effectively, both verbally and written, including providing technical programmatic information to nontechnical audience
  • You must exhibit a positive attitude and be an example to others in problem-solving, teamwork, interpersonal relationships, and commitment to the organization’s mission and vision

What You Will Do (Summary):

  • Provide comprehensive CCR&R (Child Care Resource and Referral) to customers and ensure materials are readily accessible
  • Maintain parent and provider resource equipment by ensuring that it is in optimal working order
  • Manage the reception area and provide effective telephone and in-person communication to Spanish and English speaking customers to maintain a professional image
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming environment for families
  • Determine customer eligibility for the SR and VPK programs
  • Complete specialized SR and VPK processes, as assigned 
  • Receive and respond to customer inquiries and forward to colleagues as needed
  • Provide technical assistance to customers working in the Family Portal
  • Participate in a minimum of two Outreach activities and/or events within the fiscal year
  • Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to all applicable rules, regulations, guidance and ELC plans, policies, procedures, and practices and support the department leadership in ensuring staff compliance
