Family Services Specialist
We are in the Business of Children!
We’re looking to add a hardworking Family Services Specialist to our team. This position is responsible for providing family support services that include School Readiness (SR) and Voluntary Pre-kindergarten (VPK), Child Care Referral & Resources (CCR&R).
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree and 2 years’ experience in social/human services program administration required; or
- High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant work experience in social/human services program required;
- Complete Child Care Resource and Referral Specialist evaluation (certification) within 90 days of hire;
- Knowledge of School Readiness and VPK eligibility/processes highly preferred.
- Demonstrative understanding of childcare programs, early childhood education, social service issues, community action programs, and serving low-income communities required based on experience
What You Will Do (Summary):
- Maintain working knowledge of and adhere to all applicable rules, regulations, and ELC policies and procedures
- Provide comprehensive CCR&R services to customers
- Determine customer eligibility for the SR and VPK programs
- Complete specialized SR and VPK processes, as assigned
- Participate as directed in all ELC quality improvement efforts to achieve optimum organizational performance
- Participate in structured peer review activities to evaluate work quality, ensure consistency, and support continuous improvement across the team
- Participate in a minimum of two ELC Outreach activities and/or events within the fiscal year
- Actively seek opportunities to promote the ELC to the community-at-large throughout the seven-county service region and track outcomes and return on investment
- Responsible for ensuring appropriate use of all resources by immediately reporting suspected fraud (internal and/or external) via ELC-established Fraud Reporting Procedure
- Participate as directed in all ELC quality improvement efforts to achieve optimum organizational performance

Position: Full-time, Non-exempt Position of Special Trust.
Starting Salary: $40,000
