Kidpreneur Summer Business Learning Program

Inspiring Young Entrepreneurs. Supporting Lifelong Learners.

The Kidpreneur Summer Business Learning Program is a free, engaging program designed for Big Bend children aged 8-12 who are ready to explore the world of entrepreneurship. Hosted by the Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend Region, Inc. (ELC), in partnership with the Capital City Chamber of Commerce, this unique summer experience helps children tap into their creativity, strengthen academic skills, and build real-world confidence – all while having a whole lot of fun!

Kidpreneur is currently accepting applications for Big Bend children aged 8-12 that currently reside in one of ELC’s seven service area counties: Gadsden, Jefferson, Liberty, Leon, Madison, Taylor, or Wakulla. Applications are due by Monday, May 19, 2025.

More Than a Summer Program

Kidpreneur is thoughtfully designed to combat the “summer slump” by keeping young minds active and engaged during their break. Through hands-on business development activities, students sharpen key learning skills in literacy, math, science, and the arts, all while strengthening vital social-emotional skills such as collaboration, public speaking, and problem-solving.

Throughout the program, participants will:

  • Create their own business and develop it from concept to reality
  • Practice math skills through budgeting, pricing, and planning
  • Strengthen literacy through journaling, presentations, and promotion
  • Explore artistic expression by designing logos, product displays, and creative branding
  • Build confidence through weekly workshops, public speaking, and presenting at the Kidpreneur Marketplace

Family Engagement Matters

The Kidpreneur program also offers opportunities for families to be part of the journey. From at-home tutorials and interactive weekly workshops to cheering their young entrepreneurs on during the Kidpreneur Marketplace and Awards Dinner, families are encouraged to support and celebrate their child’s growth, learning, and creativity. The program fosters meaningful connections between children, parents, and the broader community.
