Uno de los componentes clave para crear y mantener un programa de cuidado infantil de calidad es brindarles a los maestros de la primera infancia el apoyo, la educación y los recursos necesarios para tener éxito en el salón de clases. El ELC brinda una variedad de oportunidades de desarrollo profesional y servicios de apoyo a los maestros de la primera infancia. Nuestro objetivo es promover la preparación escolar y mejorar los resultados de aprendizaje de los niños pequeños al proporcionar desarrollo profesional actualizado y de alta calidad. Estas oportunidades mejoran el conocimiento y las habilidades de los educadores y cuidadores de la primera infancia.

ELC 240.25.25 Five Little Speckled Frogs and Other Familiar Number Songs
Music is important in the early years – it affects children’s intelligence and emotions while helping them develop language, math, listening, and motor skills. Music helps the body and mind work together! Singing songs helps children learn the sounds and meanings of words, dancing builds motor skills. Join us for this whimsical course to encourage children’s eagerness and curiosity to learn! Singing songs and foot-stomping are required to take this course.

NCDA1: National CDA Express Course 1 – Establishing a Safe, Healthy Learning Environment
Begin your journey by taking the coursework that will assist you in obtaining your National CDA credential. This is course 1 of 6. The ELC will provide all the textbooks and tools needed to complete the coursework for the National CDA exam. Please Note: once you finish the coursework, other requirements must be met with the Council for Professional Development.

ELC 3000.24.25 Teaching Young Children Mathematics Through Dramatic Play
In this course, you will look at math skills children need to understand and learn while engaged in dramatic play settings. According to Development and Research in Early Mathematics Education (D.R.E.M.E.), preschoolers spend only 4% of their day engaged in math content, with math instruction largely focused on counting and cardinality.
We will focus on the three-, four-, and five-year-old math skills referenced in the Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards. Through dramatic play opportunities, you set the stage for the play, which incorporates math, language, social skills, and approaches to learning. Inside the course, you will find ideas for math and tools to use such as pom-pom recipes and more. Join us in supporting math through play!
