The Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend Region (ELC) is a private, not-for-profit organization that provides services to families, children, and child care providers in the seven counties that comprise northern Florida’s Big Bend Region: Gadsden, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Taylor, and Wakulla.

ELC seeks dynamic students who want hands-on internship experience to support the organization.

Important Facts:

• Internship positions are scheduled for at least 12 hours per week and the ELC is flexible with scheduling intern hours around class schedules
• This position will receive a stipend
• Criminal background screen required and ELC participates in the E-Verify system
• One semester required; two semesters preferred

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in any Public Administration, Human Services/Science and Early Childhood Education, or Social Work or related field
• Candidate should have strong MS Office skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, be a team player, and be detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks to achieve the highest productivity while maintaining work quality
• Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
• GPA equal to or greater than 3.0

Duties:

• Providing both remote and on-site technical assistance to contracted providers
• Ensuring timely completion of contracts
• Assisting with the annual monitoring of School Readiness and Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten providers
• Assisting with updating Unit plans, policies and procedures
• Assisting with recruitment of new providers
• Undertaking additional duties as assigned
