Human Resources Generalist

We are in the business of children! We are seeking a talented Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing all aspects of Human Resources functions to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees, adherence of company policies, and compliance with employment laws. Key responsibilities include managing recruitment, staff development, employee relations, benefits program, and risk management for ELC.

Requisitos mínimos de educación y experiencia:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business, or Public Administration or another related field, required
  • Two-four years of professional human resources experience, including recruiting, benefits administration, and employee relations, required    
  • Some experience with payroll processing and data management, preferred
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred and may be considered in lieu of equivalent experience

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, follow through, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent planning and training abilities
  • Ability to comply with the organization’s policies and procedures
  • Must exhibit a positive attitude, professional manner, and be an example to others in the areas of problem-solving, teamwork, interpersonal relationships, support of management decisions, and commitment to ELC’s mission.

What You Will Do (Summary):

  • Manage the full employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, orientation, retention, and offboarding processes to ensure efficient administration, smooth employee transitions, effective succession planning, and adequate staffing resources
  • Monitor and manage the HR designated email inbox, ensuring timely and professional responses to inquiries, routing messages to the appropriate team members, as needed, while maintaining organized records
  • Ensure employee personnel records are up to date with applicable legal requirements by processing employee status changes in a timely fashion and assuring proper approvals and dissemination of approved forms
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Human Resources policies and procedures to ensure organizational compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Coordinate and maintain employee handbook, ensuring it is updated at least annually with new resolutions and other pertinent information, including updates based on HR audits
  • Manage the administration of the organization’s benefits program, including enrollments, change reporting, terminations, invoice review and approvals for payment, and communication   of benefit information to employees and vendor partners
  • Manage employee payroll system, payroll processing, and the HR management system to ensure accurate and timely administration of compensation and employee data
  • Ensure job descriptions accurately reflect current duties and responsibilities and that organizational charts are up to date with the current structure reflect the current organization structure
  • Assist with annual external audits and the development and implementation of improvement plans
  • Coordinate mandatory management training and facilitate professional development opportunities for employees through the performance management process
  • Provide guidance with employee relations including resolution of staff work-related concerns, employee counseling and disciplinary issues, employee complaints, investigations and reporting, and employee separation
  • Manage employee recognition programs that celebrate achievements, milestones, and contributions
  • Collect, analyze, and report on HR metrics such as turnover, retention and employee engagement to support data-driven decision making and continuous improvement in HR strategies
  • Provide operational support as backup for Operations team as needed
  • Participate in a minimum of two ELC Outreach activities and/or events within the fiscal year

Position: Full-time

Rango salarial: $50,000 -$55,000

Benefits: This is a full-time position that includes the following benefits: health insurance, dental, vision, flexible paid time off, retirement savings plan and loan forgiveness eligible employer, etc.
