This leadership role oversees the Community Relations staff and <a>is responsible for the management of external and internal outreach, child care resource and referral, maintenance of community relationships, and resource &amp; fund development. <\/a>This position reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in a related field and three years\u2019 experience in community relations\/outreach required<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Resource development experience required<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two years\u2019 experience managing people to include supervising and coordinating work amongst volunteers and staff, required<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent Communication (verbal and written) skills required<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrative understanding of child care programs, early childhood education, social service issues, community action programs, and\/or serving low-income communities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Required Skills and Abilities:<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bilingual (English and Spanish), a plus<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent customer service skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a>Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, web-based programs, and databases<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a>Excellent organizational and time management skills<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent interpersonal skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to adapt readily to change<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to apply knowledge and understanding of rules, regulations, and ELC policies, procedures, and practices<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to follow through on commitments and meet deadlines<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including providing technical programmatic information to the nontechnical audience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Willingness and ability to travel throughout the seven-county area, as needed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to manage multiple projects, follow through, and meet deadlines<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must exhibit a positive attitude and an example to others in the areas of problem-solving, teamwork, interpersonal relationships, support of management decisions, and commitment to ELC\u2019s mission<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Outcome-driven, with the ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively with individuals of varying backgrounds and skill levels to achieve goals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What You Will Do (Summary):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Supervise and direct the activities of community relations staff, including interviewing, hiring\/terminating, training, planning, assigning work, performance management, administering discipline, addressing complaints, and resolving problems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop in partnership with leadership ELC\u2019s annual fund development program<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage the agency\u2019s participation in community and outreach events, including, but not limited to, signature events, community outreach activities and campaigns, customer recognition events, family engagement plans, and other special activities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a>Communicate regularly and maintain positive relations with ELC donors and supporters<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Prepare and analyze reports and data to support community initiatives, outreach campaigns, and grant-related activities<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage the ELC\u2019s volunteer and student experience programs, including recruitment, placement, orientation, supervising, and reporting of all volunteer activities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creation and training of processes, procedures, and plans for designated staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Actively seek opportunities to promote the ELC to the community-at-large throughout the seven-county service region and track outcomes and return on investment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create and deliver CCR&amp;R training to current and new staff members<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engage and collaborate with child care providers to enhance program quality, support provider needs, and foster community partnerships<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop &amp; conduct training and outreach plans to educate families on early childhood topics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in and conduct peer review activities, including audits and assessments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Represent the ELC publicly at meetings and other activities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communicate gaps and needs identified in the community to the appropriate ELC leadership and the specific department<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop and present programs, reports, presentations, tours, etc. as needed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist leadership in building valuable community partnerships with community leaders, advocates, legislators, and other stakeholders<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage all efforts related to the Literacy Projects in all seven counties, including the intake and distribution of children\u2019s books (i.e., champions for literacy, word garden, and celebrity reader)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Responsible for ensuring appropriate use of all resources by immediately reporting suspected fraud (internal and\/or external) via the ELC-established Fraud Reporting Procedure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate as directed in all ELC quality improvement efforts to achieve optimum organizational performance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Us:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend Region, Inc.
